Import

Suppliers can manually add and change items. However, if larger numbers are involved, articles can be submitted using an Excel file, which can be imported into EZ-catalogue.
The articles can first be exported so that the current content of the database can be adjusted and then imported.

Is there little or no experience with importing articles?
Follow the roadmap in Quick start for as well as the first submission as for the adding and modifying of articles in EZ-catalog. The import file will be sent to EZ-base for assessment.
There is any experience with importing articles yourself?
  • There is always a rule of thumb: check first, then import!
  • Carry out the pre-check: choose the 'Check file' button (4). This report offers the possibility to check what will be added, changed or deleted if you choose to import this file.
  • If the import file has been modified after the pre-check: start again at step 1.
  • If after the pre-check the import file is approved, import this file using the 'Import file' button (5).

Standard classification included: standard + the columnsClassification level 1, 2, 3 and 4
3
Advanced (only in coordination with EZ-base): standard + the columns Classification level 1, 2, 3 and 4 + advanced columns
Which columns are advanced can be found in the description of the Article import (chapter 4).

Language

1. Language
The Article import that is imported here, will always have to contain the default language of the relevant relation that imports the file.
Therefore, in the import screen it is mentioned which language the file to be imported must contain, but it is not possible to select a language here.
For importing languages other than the default language, the menu option Translated Article Import is available.
2

Partial import

2. Partial import

If 'Partial import' is checked (default option):
Some of the articles are imported.
For each article that appears in the partial import we look in the EZ-catalogue if this article number already appears.
If this is not the case the article will be added to EZ-catalogue.
If the article does occur then the data from the article import will be used to adjust this article in the EZ-catalogue.

If 'Partial import' is not checked:
This is a full import.
In case of a full import, all articles that are not in the article import, but do occur in the EZ-catalogue, will be expired (Availability=End-of-life).
All articles that are in the article import, but not yet in EZ-catalogue will be added as new articles in EZ-catalogue.
For articles that are in the article import and already appear in the EZ-catalogue, the data from the article import will be used to adjust this article in the EZ-catalogue.
If as a result of this there are features that are no longer filled in the new article group, this feature will be removed.

The pre-check, which is performed when 'File check' (4) is selected, will give a different result for a complete import than for a partial import. Read about the difference here.
