Ez-catalog installer: .NET Framework

Question

EZ-catalog can not be installed because the installation program does not start.
 
Features
When installing from https://www.ez-catalog.nl/EzCatalog a pop-up appears with the following message:
 
  • “Cannot continue. The application is improperly formatted. Contact the application vendor for assistance.”
    or a comparable message in the language of the operating system.
  • "This application requires one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: .NETFramework,Version=v4.8
Do you want to install this .NET Framework version now?
 
Probable cause
The Windows .NET Framework version installed on the client PC is not recent enough.  .NET Framework is a part of Windows that is used by our software and also by the installer of our software. If the version of .NET Framework (at the time of writing version 4.8) is not recent enough, the encrypted download cannot be opened by Windows.
 
Solution
The right version of .NET has to be downloaded (see website Microsoft). Ask your system administrator for advice beforehand, because .NET Framework can also be used by other applications.
